Obituary of Janet D. Raphael

Janet D. Raphael, 83, passed peacefully Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017, with her loving family by her side. Janet grew up on a farm in ST. Johnsville, NY and moved to Syracuse at the age of 18 to attend C.C.B.I. She was employed by General Electric and Central City Roofing, where she worked for 30 years. In her 60's Janet reinvented herself, went back to school and became employed as a Secretary at City Hall in the City Development Dept. from which she later retired. Janet loved to go for long walks, too fast to keep up with, playing cards, dancing, and bowled in a league for many years. Janet was predeceased by her parents, John and Rose Davis and siblings, Jean, Henry, Helen, and Betty. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving son, William (Virginia) Raphael of East Syracuse, grandchildren Lisa Raphael of San Francisco, and Alec Raphael of East Syracuse, and Nieces and Nephews. The family would like to thank Sunnyside Care Center for all they did to help Janet. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 6:30 pm at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will follow at 6:30.
