Karl H. Evertz, 90 of Venice, FL formally of Liverpool, NY passed away on December 10, 2015 in Venice, Fl.
Born on June 4, 1925 in Syracuse to Paul and Mary Evertz. He graduated from North High School, where he met the love of his life, Jane Seidenfus. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, stationed in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands as a Medic. After returning to Syracuse, he was accepted to Syracuse University in their Medical Program. After much consideration, he decided to work in the family business of Mastri Heating & Air Conditioning. Shortly after, he married Jane on June, 26, 1948. In 1962 he left the family business to start his own HVAC business , C&C Distributors which he co owned and was President . He retired in 1990 and he and Jane became Snowbirds until their permanent move to Florida in 2006. Karl was an avid sports fan. He coached then umpired for the original Liverpool Little League for many years, was a season ticket holder at the original McArthur Stadium where he could be seen on the third base side cheering on the Chief’s, was a member of Westvale Golf & Country Club, umpired a Senior Softball League in Venice FL until he was 82 years old and worked at Mission Valley Golf & Country Club in Venice until 85 years old. Karl was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Syracuse and Emmanuel Lutheran in Venice. Known to all as Karl with a “K”, his charm and outgoingness to talk with everyone and make them feel special, listening to their “life story” is a true testament to his larger than life personality.
Karl was predeceased by his parents Paul & Mary Evertz and a brother, Paul Evertz, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 67 yrs Jane (Seidenfus); son William (Maura Miller); daughter Wendy Shuron (John); grandsons: BJ Evertz (Jillan) and Chris Shuron; granddaughter Jennifer Shuron great-granddaughters: Skylar and Peyton Evertz; a sister Mary Clos; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 7 at 11:00am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 210 Hazel St. Liverpool. Always Patriotic and forever grateful, Karl cared deeply for America’s heroes and valued Team Red, White and Blue’s great work enriching the lives of veterans in need.
