Betty worked for me at Hospice for over 11 years. We became friends, and continued to keep in touch after we both left Hospice. I would visit her when she lived at Nob Hill, and then when she moved to the Nottingham, and our last visit together was at Elderwood. I never married, as she had never married, and she always had words of advice and kindness for me. She always had a wonderful attitude about life and living. The last time I visited her, her hearing wasn't very well and her memory was rusty, but she said she was content and she was not bored. That there were a lot of people there, and always something going on. She always accepted any situation she was in with grace and good wit. She loved to read, and we traded books often. I could go on and on, but I will leave it at this: I loved her dearly, and I am truly saddened by her passing. Unfortunately, I am not working right now, and have a job interview right at 2:00 on Tuesday so I will not be able to attend services. I feel so terrible about that. Please say a prayer over her for me, and I will continue to hold her in my heart forever until we meet again.
