Obituary of Charles Eddy

Charles Taylor Eddy (aka Santa), 66, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital on Sat., Dec. 28. Charlie was born in Syracuse, NY, on Feb.19, 1947. He graduated in 1964 from Onondaga Valley Academy, and then earned a degree in education at SUNY Oswego. Charlie was a highly respected math teacher at Liverpool Middle School for over 30 years. His greatest passion in life was following the NY Yankees. He was predeceased in the past year by his parents, David and Marian Eddy, and his aunt, Flora Briggs. Survivors are his brother and sister-in-law, David Jr. and Dorothea (Dot) Eddy, also nephews Steven (Sheila), James (Martha, children Olivia & Truman), David III (Steve Richardson), several cousins, and thousands of students whose lives he enriched. Friends may call from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Sun., Jan. 5 at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, 3111 James St., Syracuse, NY, 13206. Burial will be private at the request of the family.
