Ellen M. Lowther-Behling, 85, passed on Friday, July 8, 2022.
Ellen was born to Catherine and John Lowther in Syracuse, NY, on July 17, 1936. Ellen graduated from St. Patrick's High School in June of 1954.
While living and teaching in the Albany — Glens Falls Area, Ellen received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from The College of Saint Rose in June of 1968 and her Master of Arts Degree from The College of Saint Rose in May of 1975. She returned to the Syracuse area and taught at Bishop Grimes and St. Patrick's High Schools. Ellen later joined Bryant & Stratton and retired in 2004.
Ellen is predeceased by her husband of 12 years, Fred J. Behling in 2001. Ellen is survived by her brother and sister in-law Francis and Marcia Lowther of Syracuse, NY., her sister, Barbara Langstone of Holbrook, MA., many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Calling hours will be from 9:30 to 10:30am at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home on Thursday, July 14, 2022 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in Blessed Sacrament Church, 3127 James Street, Syracuse. Private Interment will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Oneida, NY at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the CNY Food Bank or the SPCA of CNY.
