When I was a young child living in Eastwood, I remember going with my Mom & Dad to their lawyer's house on Shotwell Park. John C. Smith was my Dad's lawyer for 50 years. I remember sitting in the living room while they were in another room talking business. I recall how lovely the house was and the large family portrait on the wall in the living room.
My Dad passed away in January, 1966 and Mr. and Mrs. Smith came to the wake. Mr. Smith was very upset and cried to say goodbye to his long time client and friend. In later years when I was working, i use to ride the bus with Georgianna and she remembered me. I told her that when I was young I named a doll after her because i loved her name. Several years ago, while walking in Assumption cemetery, I stopped at a friend's grave and by chance noticed the head stone for the Smith's. I remember it had the scales of justice on it. How wonderful back in the late 50's and 60's that my parents could go to the Smith's home to discuss business.
My Parent's were Tony and Margaret Giuliani.
My sympathy to All of Elaine's family.

Dear Smith Family,
My Mom, Carol Satterlee (Bassett), worked with Elaine back in the day. Mom's 84 and has fond memories of riding the bus to the VA with Elaine. She remembers her as a funny, sweet, and enjoyable presence. Mom seemed a bit envious of Elaine's single state. Mom's all there, but five kids apparently do a number on your sleep and prayer life.
Please accept her fond condolences,
June Mastrogiovanni

Lou and I met Elaine in 1999. We moved
next-door to her and her sister Georgiana in their childhood house at 186 Shotwell Park. From the moment we met them we knew that they were going to be awesome friendly neighbors. They shared their memories and stories of the neighborhood with us that included their family.
Our friendship grew over the years to one of a loving relationship. We have fond memories of sitting with them on their porch drinking Manhattan’s while snacking on hors d’oeuvres sharing the latest gossip.
I was so impressed with Elaines vivacious energy! She walked regularly, golfed, made regular trips to the casino and was always ready to accept visitors at any given moment. We were so grateful to have known Elaine and her supportive family! We will be forever grateful for her friendship, acceptance and love!
Elaine... heaven is richer to have you now... we’ll miss you terribly. God rest your soul. Love you forever!
