The woman seated with the little girl in her lap is my great grandmother, Ellen Toomey (born Cody). I don't know who the little girl is, but presumably one of Grandma's children. The other woman is a friend, I think Therese said. I think this was taken in America when she lived with Grandma and Grandpa Plumridge. She is also shown in the second photo when she was younger with her second husband, John Jenkenson - the photo was taken at Ross Studios in Dublin. Her first husband, my great grandfather, had died of black lung disease (he was a minor). John Jenkenson also died before Ellen Toomey came to America. John Jenkenson is shown in the third photo as a young boy, taken in a Dublin studio.

This is a copy ordered in May 1952 of Grandma Plumridge’s birth certificate (born January 16, 1887). Coincidentally, her birth was registered on January 20, 1887, which is my own birthday. It shows the names of her parents, Ellen Toomey (born Cody) and Michael Toomey. It also shows the hospital, the Rotunda in Dublin, which is also where Aunt Mary was born.

Letter from Therese's father to her mother. The date is March 20, but the year is obscured. It would have been right after the war before 1919. They emigrated to America July 19, 1919.
