Dennis J. Rood, 73, of Eastwood, died on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at his home. He had retired from National Grid as a computer programmer. Dennis was a veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was an avid Syracuse Crunch fan.
He was predeceased by his daughter Jennifer and parents Charles & Ruth Rood.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathleen; sons: James (Kate), Michael, Daniel Rood; daughters: Kathryn (Daniel) Kinnetz, Amy Rood (Joseph Robichaud), Carrie (Brian) Gotham, Allison Rood; 6 grandchildren: Patrick and Finnegan Rood, Tye and Kyle Kinnetz, Harriet Gotham, Elizabeth Robichaud; his twin brother David (Jeanne) Rood and brother W. Frederick (Winifred) Rood; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services will be held at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home.
Contributions may be made to the YMCA of Central New York.
