When I first started working at Park Central and met Will, I knew he was a very special person. I always looked forward to our Thursday afternoons to "tweek" the weekly bulletin! Always so passionate about the music and the joy he had talking about the music he would play each Sunday. May your memory live on forever.

Although we lost contact in recent years, I will forever hold Will as one of those giants in my life. I met him as my professor as a freshman organ performance major at Syracuse University in 1972. We spent countless hours on the organ bench in Crouse Auditorium where he masterfully and lovingly led me through my studies. He was always a gentle soul, yet possessing the wisdom and experience to take me exactly where I needed to go. He demanded the best of his students, and offered nothing less in his own playing. I found his playing of the Bach Prelude & Fugue in Eb (ST ANNE), along with his scholarly performance notes, to be exceptional. His performance of Dupre's Cortege et Litanie was nothing short of transforming. I count it a great privilege to have sung in his church choir in the loft of St. Michael and All Angels Church, and remember the Reformation Sunday we sang S. Drummond Wolff's setting of "Built on a Rock the Church Doth Stand" as a seminal event in my musical growth. Along with the other organ majors at S.U., I enjoyed the many visits to local restaurants for an after hours evening of fun & fellowship. I am grateful for my time with Will-O and remember fondly his oft-repeated greeting of "How Do?" Well done, Herr Professor, from one student who went on to enjoy a lifetime of organ playing, choir directing, and music teaching.

Will was the kindest gentleman I have known. His genuine warmth greeted me at church. My mom simply adored Will who never forgot her and sent her choir music for her to enjoy in the nursing home. Will, I’m sure you will be creating music again, playing with the angels. RIP my friend.
