Ellen Wanser, 94, died on Thursday at her home in South Sandy Pond. She was born on July 19, 1926 in Syracuse. She was a registered nurse until she retired and provided home care for several older friends and family.
Ellen was predeceased by her husband Warren in 2010.
She is survived by her son: Barry (Linda) of North Syracuse; daughter: Susan (Michael) Fahey of Groton and Sandy Pond; 5 grandchildren: Brian (Nicole) and Kevin Wanser; Heather (Jason) Richardson, Kelley (Ashley) Fahey, Shaun (Rachael) Fahey; known as GiGi to her 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are Saturday, August 15 at 11am at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson funeral home with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are Saturday from 9-11am at the funeral home, 3111 James St.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Oswego County, Alzheimer’s Association, or your favorite charity.
