Robert D. Eggleston, 81, of Syracuse, died on Monday evening at Iroquois Nursing Home. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and retired after 40 years from Crouse Hinds as a draftsman. Mr. Eggleston was an active Mason and a member of Memorial Lodge 648 F & AM and a former member of Lodge 802. He also was a member of the Order of the Amaranth, Order of the Eastern Star-Onondaga Star Chapter 144, and Central City Bodies AASR. He also belonged to the Tigris Shrine and was a member of the Color Guard. Mr. Eggleston was a former member of Frieden's United Church of Christ and was currently a member of the Eastwood Baptist Church. His wife Beverly died in 2001. He is survived by his son Scott of Baltimore, MD; daughters Kathy (Rick) Kiehl of Brewerton, Susan (Brian) Cook of Manlius; and 2 granddaughters: Elizabeth and Melanie Kiehl. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10am at the Welter-Price Funeral Home with the burial to follow in White Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 4-7pm at the funeral home, 3111 James Street. A Masonic Service will be held at 6:45pm on Friday at the funeral home.
