Obituary of Joel A. Armstead

Please share a memory of Joel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joel “Jojo” Aubrey Armstead, 3, is now at peace as of July 11th 2020. He spent his last moments in his mother’s arms and with his grandmother by his side, surrounded by love and prayer. Joel had a near fatal drowning accident on August 6, 2018 that caused a severe brain injury. Although he was frail, he was also resilient and touched so many with his story. He taught so many of us to be courageous and have hope. He was born premature at 24 weeks weighing just over one pound. He had spent 100 days in the NICU but he came home like a little warrior, showing just how strong he was. He loved being held by his mother and playing with his big sister. He enjoyed being in his baby swing while his mother would sing to him. He had an infectious smile and brought so much joy into his family and friend’s lives. Joel is survived by his loving mother, Dania Olivo, big sister Analia Armstead, and maternal grandparents Ana Leger and Dan Olivo, and Uncles Daniel and Darien Olivo. “For one so small, you seem so strong”.
