Vincent Galluzzo, 97, a life-long resident of Syracuse, passed away in peace on July 13, 2020. Vince was very proud of serving in the US Navy as a Machinist’s Mate Second Class on the USS Oberrender and USS Baxter during World War II. He worked as an Industrial Engineer for over 30 years at the Carrier corporation. A member of American Legion Post 1276, Vince volunteered on bingo nights providing joy to those who were playing. He loved being with family and always looked forward to yearly family picnics. He was passionate about playing the mandolin and singing Italian songs. Often during summer nights his Eastwood neighbors could hear him playing and singing with friends and family from his screened in garage. Vince was a faithful communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church; worked as an usher and loved performing in church shows with the “Italian Vagabonds”. He was a handyman and always kept himself busy with projects within the house or at relatives. Vince was always available to family, neighbors, or friends if help was needed. He enjoyed his morning coffee routine with friends at the Shop City McDonald’s. He will always be loved and forever missed. Vince is predeceased by wife of 71 years Frances Galluzzo; his daughter, Diane Federico; sister and brother-in-law, Katie and Thomas Barreca; sister and brother-in-law, Antoinette and Mike Menona; brother Dominic Galluzzo; and brother-in-law, Louis Lanzetta.
