Obituary of Nancy A. Hagerty

Nancy Hagerty, 89, of East Syracuse, passed away peacefully on July 7 with her five daughters by her side. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Robert. She is survived by her daughters Linda Wilcox, Betsy Gazzini ( Joe ), Maureen Hagerty, Sue Stilwell and Kristin Hagerty; her grandchildren Emily, Jon, Kati, Sara, Tim, Ted and Hannah; six great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Bubbee, as many affectionately knew Nancy, never “met a stranger”. People loved talking with her and she met many wonderful people on her travels. And she had the “fun gene”. She had a wonderful laugh and she brought a light to the world. She knew that life was about the journey and she enjoyed it to the fullest. Her priorities were her strong faith and her love of family and friends, especially Ellen and Patti. Her family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care she received from the nurses, doctors, and residents at St. Joseph’s Hospital. There will be a celebratory Mass on Saturday, July 18, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Church in East Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Matthew’s Food Pantry, 600 W. Manlius Street, East Syracuse, NY 13057.
