Obituary of James Patrick Murphy

James Patrick Murphy, 67, of Camillus passed away on May 8, 2020 with his soulmate by his side. Pat was born September 2, 1952, son of Carolyn Langley. He graduated from Cato Meridian High School and attended Cayuga Community College while working at Camillus Cutlery and Burns Detective Agency. Pat made a career in The United States Navy, proudly serving aboard The USS Saratoga, USS Guam, Helicopter Squadron 7, Patrol Squadron 24, NRD Buffalo, and NRD Nashville. After retirement from The Navy, he worked for various companies in the southeast. Pat is survived by the love of his life, Joyce (Cramer) Murphy; daughter, Brooke Murphy; sons, Will (Jasmine) Murphy and Kiel (Alison) Murphy all of Nashville, TN; sister, Jan Halbach; two brothers, Dan and Tim, and his cherished grandchildren: Sean Patrick, Jacob (Jake), Harrison, Sara, Jackson, Noah, Knox, Susie, and Harvey, as well as many nieces and nephews. Pat is also survived by his extended family, all who provided love and support. The Walther Family- Sondra, Bruce, and Alivia of Tallahassee, FL; Alaina (Thomas) Kowalski of Whitehorn, CA; The Goetz Family- Charlie, Heather, Macie, Ayla & Greyson of Simsbury, CT; The Colagiovanni Family - John, Michelle, JC, Haidyn and Harper of Mt. Pleasant, SC; The Stone Family - Tamara, Ron, Austin, Alexa and Adison of Cicero, NY; and The Murphy Family- Brian, Mindy, Ashtyn and Chase of Constantia, NY. Pat was a past member of the American Legion Post 17 and The Knights of Columbus. He volunteered regularly at the Gallatin, TN nursing home, with youth groups, as a volunteer substitute teacher, and through The KOC Projects. In lieu of flowers, please volunteer your time. Private services will be held.
