Milton H. Dunsky, M.D., 87, died Saturday, February 15th at his home. Born in The Bronx, son of Jacob and Pearl Dunsky, Dr. Dunsky graduated from Columbia University and Albany Medical College. Following a three year research fellowship in Endocrinology at St. Louis University Medical School Hospital, Dr. Dunsky served the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission as a research fellow in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Dr. Dunsky moved to Syracuse for a fellowship in Nuclear Medicine at Upstate Medical Center and remained in Syracuse. Dr. Dunsky retired as the Chief of Nuclear Medicine at the Syracuse Veterans Administration Hospital and the Department of Medicine at Upstate Medical Center after working for over 30 years. His life long love of music continued as a season ticket holder at Syracuse Symphony Concerts as well as Friends of Chamber Music. Dr. Dunsky was a gifted amateur photographer and enjoyed summer vacations in Wellfleet, Massachusetts with his family. Dr. Dunsky is survived by his wife of 55 years, Theresa, his daughter Mary Elizabeth Von Dros (Dean) of Green Bay, Wisconsin, his son Robert (Maria) of Washington, D.C., and two grandsons Jacob Von Dros and Nicholas R. Dunsky. Calling hours will be 4-6 pm, Thursday February 20th at the Goddard-Crandall- Shepardson Funeral Home at 3111 James Street, Syracuse. A service will follow at 6pm. Interment will be in Mechanicville, NY on Friday at 11:30. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Amaeus Dental Care or Albany Medical College Scholarship Fund. Online condolences at www.shepardsonfh.com.
