Obituary of Gary E. Gundlach
Gary E. Gundlach, 71, of Syracuse died unexpectedly from complications of a hip fracture on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse. He was born on November 27,1947, the second son of Robert E. Gundlach, Jr. and Betty Jane (Corbett) Gundlach.
Gary grew up in Syracuse, attended the local elementary and high school in Eastwood, and completed college at the University of Missouri. His career as a Private Investigator began in Arizona and continued upon his return to Syracuse. Gary was an avid golfer, classic movies aficionado, and loyal fan of the Syracuse Chiefs, NY Yankees, and Syracuse University basketball and football teams. His clever wit, charm, and sense of humor defined his character.
Gary was predeceased by his paternal and maternal grandparents, his parents, his step-father Richard J. Gundlach, and his brother Thomas R. Gundlach, Sr. He leaves his sister-in-law Gwendolyn Gundlach of Jaffrey, NH, his uncle Ron MacDowell of Carolina Shores, NC, four nephews, numerous cousins, and a daughter and son from earlier marriages.
