Clifford H. Auth, 87, a lifelong resident of Syracuse, New York went to be with the Lord on December 26th. Cliff, son to Henry and Hilda Auth was born on November 22, 1925 and a graduate of North High School. The bonds he forged with his brothers on LST 839 were lifelong. Following his return home from the war, he began a tenure of 44 years with the New York Telephone Company where he met his best friend and future wife, Patricia. As life partners, they raised six children and found time to bowl weekly at the Lyncourt Lanes, serve on the Parish Council at St. Daniel's Church and in later years becoming members of the Franciscan Associate Program. In retirement, Cliff began a new chapter in his life as an avid runner. Most recently, he placed at the Senior Olympics in San Antonio, Texas and garnered a gold at the Senior Games in Cortland of 2011.
Clifford is predeceased by his wife Patricia of 52 years, sister Marion Holley, brothers in law, Lynn Holley, John and Patrick Putnam, sisters in law Rosemary McCrohan and Marigert Putnam.
