Obituary of Arlene B. Stenuf

Arlene B. Stenuf, 87 of Skaneateles passed away Wednesday at home. She was born on July 25, 1925 the daughter of the late Al and Adelaide Fix and raised in Eastwood. Arlene was predeceased by her husband Dr. Theodore Stenuf. She was a graduate of SUNY Oswego Teacher College and received her masters degree from Syracuse University in Egyptian History. Arlene was a marvelous scholar and amazing cook, who loved to travel. Arlene was a teacher for a number of years in Fairmount and in Virginia. She was a former member of the Skaneateles Country Club, and enjoyed spending time with her daughter at Owasco Country Club. She loved the opera, ballet and the arts and was an active fundraiser for the Syracuse Symphony. When raising her two children spent many years boating and swimming on Oneida Lake at her summer home. Survived by her daughter: Marlene Stenuf of Skaneateles; son Theodore Stenuf of Fayetteville; grandchildren : Matthew, Nicholas, Sarah and Zachary; and several cousins. Funeral services will be private for invited family and friends. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum. Calling Hours will be held on Friday, from 4-7pm at Welter-Price Funeral Home 3111 James Street.
