Frank P. McDonald, 90, passed away Saturday in Zephyrhills, Florida. He was born on November 7, 1922 the son of the late Frank and Doris Page McDonald. Born and raised in Syracuse, Frank was a US Marine Corp Veteran, who served his country during World War II. He retired from the New York Telephone Company in 1985 after 40 years of service. Frank was a member of the American Legion Post 1276 and James Street United Methodist Church. He Loved the time he spent with his family, espically his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending his summers at Sandy Pond and traveling to Florida for the winter. Frank would talk to anyone, anywhere using his unique "gift to gab".Survived by his loving wife of 70 years Dorothea VanPatten McDonald; children: Joann (Dave) Parker, Robert (Kathy) McDonald, William (Connie) McDonald and James (Peg) McDonald; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 25 at 10am in Welter-Price Funeral Home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, from 4-7pm at funeral home, 3111 James Street. Donation may be made to American Heart Association in Frank's memory.
