Obituary of Margaret A. Vargo

Margaret A. "Marge" Vargo, 62, of Syracuse, died on Monday at James Square. Marge has an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Hudson Valley Community College. She worked for 16 years as a Assistant Traffic Manager for Agway. Marge was a Lector, Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Refugee Committee at St. Vincent dePaul Church. She was also a volunteer at the Veterans Administration Hospital. Her parents, Andrew and Josephine Bailey Vargo, and sister, Mary Drew, are pre-deceased. Marge made holidays very special as she was an avid baker and craftsperson who loaded the house with presents and grand festive meals. She vacationed regularly in Maine. She is survived by her sisters: Kathy (Michael) Byrnes of Jamesville, Liz (Jeffery) Smith of Minnesota, Anne Cheney of Kingston, Ontario; and brothers: John of Syracuse, Joseph (Ro) of Syracuse, Thomas (Lynn) of Indiana; several loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Funeral services are Thursday at 8:30am at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and at 9am in St. Vincent dePaul Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-6pm at the funeral home, 3111 James Street.
