Harold J. DeWolf
October 1, 2017

Harold J. DeWolf, 82, of North Syracuse, passed peacefully in his sleep, after a long hard fought battle with illness.  He had retired from Fisher Body, a Division of General Motors, after 34 years.  He was a member of the Cleveland Lake Club, a Mason and a Habitat Board member.  Mr. DeWolf was also a very active member of Eastwood Baptist Church, a Sunday School teacher for many years, moderator of the Church Board, a member of the Church Coir and Boy Scout Leader of Troop 7.  He enjoyed gardening, wood working and painting.  He would build toys for Habitat with his grandchildren and friends to support Habitat home building.
He was predeceased by his parents Irene (DeWolf) Wheel and Clinton DeWolf, a brother Ernest and sister Frances Bliss.
He is survived by his wife of almost 63 years: Rae (Slentz) DeWolf; sons: Mark (Cathy) of North Syracuse, Raymond of Deruyter; grandchildren: Tanner (Megan) DeWolf, Stephanie (Justin) Spring; great-grandchildren: Coleman, Sawyer, Cheyenne; brother Charles (Lorraine); sister-in-law Alyce DeWolf; and many nieces and nephews.
The DeWolf family wishes to thank all the aides, nurses, and schedulers from St. Joseph’s and Franciscan for their wonderful care they gave to Harold.  It was appreciated more than you know.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 7pm in Eastwood Baptist Church.  Friends may greet the family from 6-7 prior to the service in the church, 3212 James Street.
