Obituary of Joseph W. Brigandi

Joseph W. Brigandi, 95, of Syracuse passed away Sunday, June 25, surrounded by family. Joseph was born January 6, 1922 in Geneva, NY, the son of Anthony and Mary Sindoni Brigandi. He was a graduate of St. Francis De Sales School.  Joseph was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving with the 924th Army Corps of Engineers during WW II, having landed on Omaha Beach. He retired from G.E. in 1984 after 28 years of faithful service. Joe’s passion was wood working he also enjoyed the G.E. Golf league, Hunting, Photography, Music, going to the theater, Sports, Gardening, and Science. He helped his children with many remodeling projects and traveled extensively with his wife Mary.
 Joseph was predeceased by his wife Mary his daughter Joanne Kammers and his granddaughter Maria Teresa Kammers. He is survived by his sons and daughters in law Anthony and Frances of Rochester and Joseph C. And Judy of Liverpool. Grandchildren; Michael Kammers (Amy), Gina Brigandi, Julie Brigandi and Fiancé’ Brad Kalpin, Patrick Brigandi, Kristie Brigandi, and Kelly Brigandi.
Funeral Services will be Friday at 10:00 am at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, Inc. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:30.  Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.  Calling hours are Thursday from 5 - 8pm at the funeral home, 3111 James Street.
