Dorothy Amelia Fortuno April 4, 2017 Dorothy Amelia Fortuno, 96, of Syracuse, died on Tuesday at James Square. She was a former communicant of St. Peter’s Church and past president of the Knights of Columbus Women’s Auxiliary of Council 5398. Dorothy worked for Smith Corona and was a former board member of the East Syracuse Library. She was an avid NY Yankees fan. She was predeceased by her husband Dominic Fortuno in 2001, daughter Patricia Kelleher in 2011 and her parents: William & Agnes Wychules. She is survived by her son Dominic (Patricia) Fortuno; grandchildren: Dawn Stopiano, Susan Deapo, Michael Kelleher, Jeffrey Fortuno, 2 sisters-in law: Josephine Zingaro, Eleanor Berardi, and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10am in Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and at 10:30 in Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Mausoleum. Friends may greet the family from 9-10 on Friday at the funeral home, 3111 James Street. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Blessed Sacrament Outreach Program.
