Obituary of Daniel John Sweeney

Daniel J. Sweeney, of Syracuse, blessed us on October 22, 1963 and left us on November 17, 2016. Danny was the adoring son of Carmella & Bernie Sweeney, beloved brother of Michael, Pat & Mary. Danny, Bernie, & Pat built a incredible business starting in 1988 and Danny was instrumental in the success of the company. Decades in the automotive industry led to a love of cars and auto racing, especially NASCAR. Always the life of the party, Danny’s humor was contagious. Danny would always bring back the “great old days”, making us all revisit our incredible past. Never at the lost for words, he could make us all laugh at any given moment, good or bad. Danny cherished his family, many nieces and nephews including PJ and Alainna Sweeney and extended family numbering in the 100's. Danny dedicated the last decades of his life caring for his parents, his best and dearest friends. For that he will always be appreciated, cherished and beloved. We all lost a once in a lifetime son, brother, uncle & friend...but we will never loose the memories, the laughter, the incredible ray of light that God blessed us with. Gone but never forgotten. Danny is in heaven now, making angels laugh. Funeral services are Monday at 10:30am in Blessed Sacrament Church with interment to follow in St. Mary’s Mausoleum. Calling hours are Sunday from 3-6pm in Blessed Sacrament Church, 3127 James Street, Syracuse 13206. Memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church.
