Edith L. Doty, 99, of Syracuse, died on Monday at Elderwood in Liverpool. She retired from General Electric Co. and formerly was employed by L.C. Smith and Easy Washer. Ms. Doty was a volunteer at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Loretto and a former member of the Moose Lodge in Solvay. She was pre-deceased by her parents: Harry and Louise Doty and brothers: Harry “Bud” Doty and Leroy “Babe” Doty.
Edith and her family and friends greatly appreciate the wonderful caring nurses and staff on the second floor at Elderwood.
She is survived by a niece Carol Adams of Florida; and lifelong friends, whom she considered her family, Carol and Jerry Wallace. Services are Friday at 12noon with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit from 11-12pm before the services at the funeral home, 1217 N. Salina St. Friends wishing may contribute to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
