Helen E. Simmons, 99, of Eastwood, died on Tuesday at Menorah Park. Helen was a member of Blessed Sacrament church and a former member of their Altar & Rosary Society. She enjoyed taking bus trips and seeing the sights - gardens were a favorite of hers. Helen was an excellent Pinochle player for many years. She also played the piano and enjoyed reading.
She is predeceased by her husband Arthur G. Simmons; her sisters: Alice Riley, Marguerite Slocum; her brothers: Albert and Vincent Slocum; and a nephew John D. Riley.
Mrs. Simmons is survived by her daughter Carol (Norbert) Spiegel; a brother Joseph Slocum; nephews: Thomas Riley, John (Jay) Slocum, Michael Slocum; nieces Joanne Crosman, Judy Fero; and several great nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Menorah Park for their excellent care they provided Helen.
A memorial mass will be held on Monday at 11:30 in Blessed Sacrament Church. Friends may greet the family from 10:30-11:30 before the mass in church. Private interment will be in Assumption Mausoleum.
