Obituary of Barbara S. Sandel

Barbara S. Sandel, 80, of Liverpool, died on Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was a graduate of Central High School and had worked when she was younger at Fays at Christmas time. Barbara and her husband celebrated their Anniversary for 30 years at the same location of their Honeymoon in Niagara Falls, Canada. For most of Barbara's life, she worked as a secretary for an insurance company. She was the private secretary for Insurance Agent Gorden Patrick until she retired in 1984. Barbara was a lifetime member of Friedens UCC, formerly located on Lodi Street in Syracuse. She served as the church secretary and volunteered on many committees until the church closed in 2011. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Francis. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11am in the Malden Road United Church of Christ, 108 Malden Road, Mattydale 13211 (Next to Rite Aid). Private burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 4-6pm at the Frasier-Shepardson Funeral Home, 1217 N. Salina Street.
