Gary A. Tubbert, 79, of East Syracuse, died on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Iroquois Nursing Home. He was the former owner and operator for more than 40 years of Gary's Coiffures in Eastwood. Gary was an avid golfer, bowler and fisherman. He was a member of the Cannon Valley Golf Club and the Maple Anglers Club on Oneida Lake.
He was pre-deceased by his son Brian and brother James Sherman Tubbert.
Gary is survived by his wife of 41 years, Susan; a son Brett of San Diego, CA; 2 daughters: Kimberly (James) Cornett of Simi Valley, CA, Shelby (Jeff) Robinson of Clay; a brother Thomas (Christine) of Syracuse; grandchildren: Brandon Prince, Kelli Chapin, Khloe Tubbert, Katie Cornett, Dakota & Alyssa Robinson; nieces: Danna & Stacy; nephew Dean; and many close friends including his fishing buddy and dear friend, Bobby.
Friends may greet the family on Saturday, May 30 from 12-2pm at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, 3111 James Street.
The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at St. Joseph's Hospital and Iroquois Nursing Home for their care and support.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the S.P.C.A.
