John Paul Murray, 59, of Eastwood, died at home on Wednesday surrounded by his loving family, after battling cancer for 22 years. John had graduated from Henninger High School in 1974 and was the owner and operator of the Carrier Circle Car Wash for 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at camp in Henderson on Lake Ontario. With his son and his love of wood working, he built numerous birdhouses that are planted though out Eastwood. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Patricia Martin Murray; daughters: Kara K. & Leslie D.; son Patrick J.; his mother: Barbara S Murray; brother Mike (Lorraine) Murray; sisters: Marybeth (Bryon) Rice, Suzanne Murray; grandchildren Cameron and Keira Murray; and numerous favored nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. The Murray family would like to thank Doctors Scalzo & Alpert at Hematology, Oncology of CNY, the doctors, nurses and aides on 4 South at Crouse Hospital and the transplant team at Roswell Cancer Institute in Buffalo for all of the their care and support. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:30 at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and at 10am in St. Vincent dePaul Church. Calling hours are Friday from 4-8pm at the funeral home, 3111 James Street. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY.
