Margaret E. (Perkins) McManus, 72, of Syracuse, died Monday peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends. Margaret was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and was loved by all who knew her. She formerly worked at Syracuse Fire Door and devoted her life to providing love and care to many children and their families for over 30 years. She was a former member of the Webster School Mother's Club for over ten years. Margaret was a communicant of St. John the Baptist / Holy Trinity Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, doing crafts / ceramics and was a dedicated QVC fan. She touched the lives of many and will be forever remembered for her caring and loving ways. Margaret is pre-deceased by her husband of 40 years, Chuck McManus and parents James and Marion Perkins. She is survived by her 3 daughters: Melody Schefter of Manlius, Karen (Dave) Frigon of Syracuse, Charlene Matthes of Dewitt; 3 grandchildren: Hunter, Austin and Maeve and a step-grandson: David (Talisa) Frigon; 2 sisters: Mollie (Clifford) Goodspeed, of Manlius and Mary Ellen Sunser of Syracuse; a sister-in-law Nancy Prue of Oswego; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Margaret's family wishes to thank Dr. Teresa Gentile and the staff at SUNY Regional Oncology Center for their 12 years of care and support. Funeral services are Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Frasier-Shepardson Funeral Home and at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist / Holy Trinity Church, on Park Street. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, 1217 North Salina St.
