Michael Francis La Fex, 54 of Lyncourt passed away peacefully April 6, 2015 after a brief illness at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born October 16, 1960 to James D. Sr. & Renee La Fex of Syracuse. Michael's love of hockey brought him to Bishop Ludden Jr./Sr. High School where he graduated in 1978. He was the stick boy for the Syracuse Blazers Hockey Club of the EHL during the mid 70's. He attended Sussex Valley Hockey Camp in New Brunswick, Canada. Michael served in the US NAVY from 1981-1984. He was employed at AT&T and Syracuse China of Syracuse, NY. He was an avid fan of the NY Rangers and the NY Mets. Michael will be remembered for his infectious laughter and his devotion to his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Michael is survived by his Parents, his Daughter Renee (Shanen) Fauske of Montana and his four Grandchildren: MaKenzie, Erika, Bryan and Kayleb, all of Montana; his Brothers: James D. Jr., of Brewerton, and Steven J. of Minoa; his Sisters: Jeanne M. (Timothy) Cavanaugh of Cicero and Kathleen A. (Ronald Monterville) La Fex of Clay; 10 Nieces & Nephews and 13 Great Nieces & Nephews. Michael was predeceased by his beloved Dog "Z". Private services were held Wednesday April 8, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Church, Syracuse, NY. He was laid to rest at Assumption Cemetery, Court St., Syracuse. Contributions can be made in Michael's name to Bishop Ludden Athletics, 815 Fay Rd., Syracuse, NY 13219. As his sister Kathleen said to all of you who loved him, "Michael has gone Home".
