Obituary of Lora Ann Mooney

Lora was with her family at her home at Menorah Park when she went home to the Lord on April 3, 2015. Lora lived a full and wonderful life and was 95 years young. Lora was born in Syracuse in 1920 as "Lorenzina Damiani" to Ross and Fannie Danial (Damiani). She attended Prescott School, North High School and Graduated from Syracuse University with a Music Degree. Lora married James Robert Mooney on August 29, 1946. She taught Second Grade at Most Holy Rosary School in Syracuse for many years. They retired to south Louisiana where her husband died in 1997. Lora is survived by her four children: David (Sandra) Mooney, Manlius NY., Michael Mooney, Baton Rouge La., Daniel (Barbara) Mooney, Baton Rouge La., and Kathryn (Jack) Mullins, Lake Havasu, Az., 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Menorah Park for the love and care they provided to Mama Mooney. Friends and Family may call Friday, April 10, 2015 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, 3111 James Street, Syracuse. Her life will be celebrated at a Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Sacrament Church, 3127 James Street, Syracuse on April 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Guests will be received at the Church at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: 'The Employee Fund' at Menorah Park, 4101 East Genesee Street, Syracuse, NY 13214
