Jean P. Ditterline, 85, of Syracuse, died on Saturday at Crouse Hospital. She was a former secretary for the Syracuse City School District, a member of Eastwood Baptist Church, a former Girl Scout Leader, member of the Henninger Boosters Club and the Huntington Mother's Club. She is pre-deceased by her husband of 50 years, Merrill "Bud" Ditterline., her brother Lawrence Forkhamer and sister Janet Zimmer. Mrs. Ditterline is survived by her sons: Jack (Susan) of Charleston, SC, Bill (Kathy) and Tim of Syracuse; her daughter Sue (John) Rizzo of Harvard, MA; grandchildren: Michael(Laurie) Ditterline, Patrick(Amy) Ditterline, Jeffrey(Lawrie) Ditterline, Jessica(Brandon) Croft, David(Shannon Donohue) Ditterline & Ryan(Kristin Schu) Ditterline, David & Allison Rizzo, Sarah Ditterline; great-grandchildren: William Ditterline, Abigail Croft, Tessa Jean Ditterline, Zachary Ditterline; several nieces and nephews; and her dearest friend Sue Walker of Baldwinsville. The family wishes to thank the Palliative Care Team at Crouse Hospital and the fantastic nurses on 6 North for their care and support. Services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eastwood Baptist Church, 3212 James Street, Syracuse 13206.
