Obituary of Nina R. Farnach

Nina Rose (Sgroi) Farnach, 94, of Eastwood, died at home on Sunday. She had retired in 1982 after 18 years with Bristol Myers. She had volunteered at James Square and was a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program for 4 years. Mrs. Farnach was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the Bishop's Fund. She was a member of and past treasurer of the Lincoln Cultural Association, the Home Bureau and a former Cub Scout leader. Mrs. Farnach was an avid bowler and golfer and enjoyed traveling. She was pre-deceased by her husband John and her sisters: Santina Ragonese and Frances Cali.
She is survived by her daughter: Joanne (Angelo) Paparo of Chittenago; her 2 sons: John A. (Diane) of Manlius, James (Betsy) of West Palm Beach, FL; sister: Mally Monaco of Oneida; brothers: Gregory Sgroi of Canford, NJ, Sebastian Sgroi of Ormond Beach, Fl, Sam V. Sgroi of Canastota; grandchildren: Angela and Daniela Paparo, John, Patrick, Michael, Susan, James Farnach; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services are Wednesday at 10am at the Godard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and at 10:30 in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-7pm at the funeral home, 3111 James Street.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY or to Blessed Sacrament Church.
