Anita L. Failmezger, 83, of Fayetteville, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at The Grand in Chittenago, NY. She was born in Syracuse to John and Harriet Bennett. She attended Nottingham High School and Syracuse University, where she received a Master's Degree in Journalism. She is survived by her husband, Robert Failmezger and four children and six grandchildren: Ann Goldschmidt (Marc) of Delray Beach, Florida and her daughter Brittany; Patricia Hines (Kenneth) of Fayetteville and her children Riley, Taylor and Sydney; John Failmezger of Fayetteville; and Robert A. Failmezger (Sandra) of Gramby and his children Shannon and Andrew. During her early career she worked in NYC, Rochester, and Syracuse, for the Post Standard. Most of her adult life was devoted to serving her family and Jesus Christ, her savior and friend. She enjoyed singing, reading, and spending time vacationing in the Thousand Islands. Anita always had a way of putting others first before herself. She will be forever loved and greatly missed by her family and friends. Calling hours will be at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, 3111 James Street in Eastwood on Thursday, February 12 from 4 to 7 PM.
