Eleanor A. (Pietrafesa) Abenanty, 102, of Eastwood, passed away on Saturday, February 7th at James Square where she resided for 4 years.
She retired from Hamilton Fashions in Eastwood where she was an excellent seamstress.
Born in Syracuse on January 23, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Concetta (DeLeva) Pietrafesa.
Eleanor was pre-deceased by her husband Ralph, the former co-owner of the Anchor Room Restaurant in Eastwood. She was also pre-deceased by her brothers: Arthur, Joseph and Dominic; her sisters: Anna Marie Pietrafesa, Mary Giacobbe, Grace DeMasi, Edith Fournier and Veronica Pallone.
Mrs. Abenanty is survived by her loving daughter Mary Ellen and her husband Francis (Butch) Kessler of Eastwood and several nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends from 11:00AM - 12noon on Wednesday at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, 3111 James Street, with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
A special thank you to all at James Square who took such excellent care of our mother, especially those on C-South, past and present care givers.
