Obituary of Geraldine L. Murray

Geraldine "Gerry" L. Murray, 64, of Syracuse, died from cancer, on Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Gerry was the daughter of Earl and Eva Walters and grew up in Whitesboro, NY before moving to Syracuse. She had worked at Brookline Machine Company, Hospice of CNY and Sealtest over the years. Gerry had been an active member of AA and had helped many people overcome great obstacles in their lives. Her grandchildren brought her the greatest joy. She was always there to cheer them on at sporting events or dance recitals. She is survived by her husband Donald; her daughter Jennifer (Eric) Scanna of Liverpool; a brother Fred Walters of Forestport, NY; 4 grandchildren: Lucas, Ava, Kamry and Olivia Scanna; 2 nieces and 1 nephew. Funeral services are Monday at 10am at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and at 10:30 in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 2-5pm at the funeral home, 3111 James St. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
