Carroll A. Thompson, 55, of East Syracuse, died on Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was an 1977 graduate of ESM. Carroll had worked at Rico's Restaurant since it opened and had formerly worked at Grimaldi's. She was an avid SU Basketball fan and a devoted mother, grandmother and aunt.
Carroll is survived by her husband of 33 years, James M. Thompson; her daughters: Jaime (Brian) Young of Clay, Erin Thompson of Syracuse, Emily Thompson of East Syracuse; her parents: Ralph and Gail DeBaise of East Syracuse; her siblings: Laurie (Larry) Margolis of Ossining, NY, Janine (Bill Sweeney) DeBaise of Kirkville, Kevin (Peg) DeBaise of Rochester, Colleen (Frank Guittard) DeBaise of East Hampton, NY; a granddaughter Riley Young; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday at 9am in Blessed Sacrament Church with burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-7pm at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, 3111 James Street. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund of CNY, PO Box 187, Warners, NY 13164.
