Obituary of Virginia Hemmer White

Virginia Hemmer White June 23, 2014 M. Virginia "Ginnie" Hemmer White, 88, of Syracuse, died on Monday at Crouse Hospital. She was a graduate of St. John Catholic Academy 1943 and St. Joseph's School of Nursing class of 1947. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and a longtime member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of Birthright of Onondaga, Syracuse Right to Life and the Onondaga ARC. She was pre-deceased by her husband Robert M. White (2013). Mrs. White is survived by 7 sons: James J. of Kirkville, John R. (Michelle) of Fuquay Varina, NC, Thomas F. of Syracuse, Peter V. (Harriett) of Manlius, Paul M. (Lorraine) of Liverpool, Retired Lieutenant Colonel, Andrew P. (former wife Kim Frost) of Alexandria, VA, Mark S. White of Syracuse; 4 daughters: Mary V. (David) Morgan of LaFayette, Helen M. (Andrew Leighton) White of Arlington, VA, Mary G. (Elizabeth Regan) White of Hampton, CT, Maritherese deBerjeois of Chapel Hill, NC; 2 Sisters: Beatrice Crescenzi of Syracuse, Claire O'Reilly of Silver Springs, MD; and a brother: Carl J.(Patricia) Hemmer of Fairfax, VA; 20 grandchildren: Allie, Aimee, Shawn, Erin, Ryan, Kevin, Jeff, Matt, James, Brittany, Rebekah, Lauren, Katie, Jamie, Ben, Danielle, Mackenzie, Alexandra, Madalyn, Jessica; 10 great-grandchildren: Haley, Abby, Joey, Morgan, Maddie, Taylor, Rylee, Kennedy, Jaina, Ethan. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 9 am in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will follow immediately after at Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 3-7 pm at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, 3111 James Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Onondaga ARC, Blessed Sacrament Church Outreach Program or a charity of choice.
