Obituary of Evelyn Alice Armstrong

Evelyn Alice Armstrong, 90, of Syracuse, the daughter of the late William and Georgia Kolb of Watertown, died on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the home of her daughter in Rock Hill, SC. Mrs. Armstrong received her nursing degree from Mercy Hospital in 1944. She retired in 1988 from Plaza Skilled Nursing after 15 years of employment and had been a nurse for 42 years.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Andrew W. Armstrong who died in 1980.
Mrs. Armstrong is survived by her daughters: Elaine Romano, Laura Haile, Elizabeth (Jay) Britschge; her sons: Robert, George (Sue), William (Paula) Armstrong; a brother Ted Kolb; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services are Tuesday at 10AM in St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral Chapel. The family will greet friends after the service at the Church. Burial will be in East Rodman Cemetery in the Town of Rodman, NY. Contributions may be made to Hospice Community Care 2375 India Hook Road Rock Hill, NC 29732.
