Obituary of Paul A. Cinqmars

Paul A. "Bud" Cinqmars, 87, of Cicero, died on Sunday at Iroquois Nursing Home. He was a veteran of the US Navy from 1944-46 and had attended Lemoyne College. He retired in 1988 from Local 545 Operating Engineers and also served as a board member for the union. Paul was a communicant and former funeral server at Blessed Sacrament. He was also a Fourth Degree and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 5398 and was also a Franciscan Associate. He volunteered for over 15 years at Francis House and was a member of the VFW Post 7325 in Constantia. He was pre-deceased by his son Daniel. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley; a son Gary (Sharel) of Constantia; daughter Paula (Lawrence) Hoffman of North Syracuse; 4 grandchildren: Jordan, Baker, Bridget Grosso, Brian; great-grandchildren: Gavin, Amelia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The Cinqmars family would like to thank the staff at Iroquois for the wonderful care they received. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10am at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and at 10:30 in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-7pm at the funeral home, 3111 James Street. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of CNY or the SPCA.
