Obituary of Joanne B. Sherman

Joanne Butler Sherman, 82, of Dewitt, died in her sleep on Friday at Central Park Rehabilitation Center. She had been an interior designer and decorator at Ethan Allen and JC Penney and had also worked for Home Health Aides. She was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church, Dewitt Historical and Preservation Society, Beta Sigma Phi social sorority, and Brown University Alumni Association. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Edward T. Sherman and son, Russell H. McGee. Surviving are her son, Steven L. McGee, Doylestown, PA; daughter, Linda L. Barloon, Jacksonville, FL; sister, Mary Anita Berry, Baldwinsville; 2 grandsons; 4 granddaughters; several nieces and nephews and her best friend and confidant, Peter B. Volmes. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11am in St. Alban's Episcopal Church. Friends may greet the family 10-11am prior to the service in the church. Burial will follow in Dewitt Community Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Alban's Episcopal Church or Alzheimer's Association of CNY.
