Obituary of William J. Horner

William J. Horner, 89, of Syracuse died on Monday at James Square. He had retired from Crucible as a steel inspector. Mr. Horner was a veteran of the US Navy and a communicant of Transfiguration Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He was pre-deceased by his wife Angeline "Nellie" who died in 1999.
Bill is survived by his daughters: Marge (Frank) Lanza of Syracuse, Laurie A. (Daniel) Rebich and Mary Ellen (Steve) Lynch both of Shrewsbury, PA; 6 grandchildren: Katie & Nicholas Lanza, Alexander & Adam Rebich, Sara & Melissa Lynch; and several nieces and nephews.
The Horner family wishes to thank the staff at James Square for their care and compassion.
Funeral services are Saturday at 11am at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home. Friends may greet the family from 9-11am before the service. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament School.
