Lillian Rose Schmidt, 93, lifelong Northsider, passed away at James Square on Saturday. She was married to Edward J. Schmidt for 61 years until his death in 2006. Lillian loved many things in her life first and foremost, her family, animals, traveling, singing, dancing, scratch-off lottery tickets, the State Fair, Burger King, and especially shopping for others - including the need at Christmas. She was very generous, a meticulous housekeeper, and excellent cook. She is survived by her daughter and son in law Bonnie Lynn and Bob Traylor, her brothers Joseph Santy, Gerald (Patricia) Santy; sister in law Clare (Bovenzi) Santy all of Syracuse, several nieces, nephews and cousins, her "adopted family" Mike, Becky, and Kim Elderbroom and Tyrone Claire, and her "Burger King angel" Diane McBride. In addition to her husband Lillian was predecased by an infant son Edward Michael, brother Michael Santy, niece Cheryl (Santy) Louer, her "adopted granddaughter" Veronica Claire, and another "BK angel" Jeanne Raymond.

Visiting hour will be held on Wednesday, November 13 from 9:30 - 10:30am at Frasier-Shepardson Funeral Home, 1217 N. Salina Street followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1001 Tulip St. Liverpool. Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery at a later date. Contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker Church, the SPCA or the Humane Society.
