Obituary of Karol Frank Fisher

Karol Frank Fisher October 25, 2013 Karol Frank Fisher of the Town of Manlius left this world on Friday, October 25, 2013 to be with the Lord. Frank, as his friends knew him, was born to John and Anastasia "Nellie" Fisher on January 24, 1916, in Syracuse. He was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Army and retiree of The United States Postal Service. Mr. Fisher was a long time communicant and usher at Transfiguration Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, bowling, golf and playing cards. Through the years, he held several championship titles at the Arrowhead Golf Course. He is also a former member of the Eastwood Post of the American Legion and The Fremont Lions Club. Mr. Fisher leaves to this world his wife of 74 years, Sophie Fisher, sons Lance Fisher of Syracuse and Duane (Cristina) Fisher of Atlanta, Georgia. He is also survived by three grandchildren, his sister Annie McNeil of Bradenton, Florida and several nieces and nephews. His brothers Stanley Fisher, Fred Fisher, Anthony Fisher and sister Margret Ryan preceded him in death. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday at 10am in Transfiguration Church, preceded by a brief visitation for family and friends from 9:30-10am in church. Interment will follow at Woodlawn cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Transfiguration Church Building Fund, 740 Teall Avenue, Syracuse 13206.
