James C. Crane, 82, of Minoa, died on Monday at Crouse Hospital. He was a graduate of Eastwood High School and served in Germany with the US Army from 1953 to 1955. Mr. Crane retired from Bristol Myers in 1986 after 35 years and from Nationwide Insurance Company after seven years. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Minoa. He was a member of the East Syracuse Council #5186 of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Eastwood American Legion Post 1276, a former vice president of the Bristol Myers Employee Association and former president of the Bowling League. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty A. (Ditoro) Crane; a daughter, Kathleen (Keith) MacDougall of Warwick, NY; three grandchildren, Bryan, Shannon, Kaela MacDougal; and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church with burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Minoa. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, 3111 James Street.
