Mrs. Josephine E. Pierce, 96, resident of Syracuse, New York passed away on August 18, 2013. Mrs. Pierce was born and lived in Syracuse all of her life and worked for Bristol Myers Squibb for over 40 years. She was actively involved in several charities and functions associated with the Blessed Sacrament Church throughout her lifetime.
Mrs. Pierce was the wife of Mr.James Pierce, also of Syracuse, and is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Anne Pierce; grandchildren, Dr. Kevin Cuevas, Kristen Velasquez, Karrianne Bermea; four great-grandchildren; her niece, Debbie Hurteau and two great-nieces.
A Mass for Mrs. Pierce will be held at the Blessed Sacrament Church, 3129 James Street, Syracuse, at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2013. Calling hours will be 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the Mass at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Assumption Cemetery, 2401 Court St., Syracuse and a luncheon at 1 p.m. at Casa di Copani, 3414 Burnet Ave., Syracuse to celebrate her life will follow.
