Obituary of Charles E. Foland

Charles E. Foland, 92, of Brewerton, NY, died peacefully at home and entered the embrace of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Son of the late Charles and Vera Foland, he was born in Syracuse, NY. He was a graduate of Eastwood High School and a former owner of Foland Sales, Inc- a third generation local family-owned business. He was a longtime active member of Eastwood Baptist Church, Gideon’s International, Lakeshore Sportsman Club, Brewerton Fire Department, and the Masonic Lodge.
Chuck split his time between his home on Oneida Lake and his “snowbird” home at Briny Breezes (FL).  In the summers, he cherished spending time with his family- gardening, boating, fishing, lots of projects and family camping at Pathfinder Lodge. Chuck was a man of few words, but acted out his faith through giving, serving and leading. While in Briny, Chuck held numerous leadership positions in the community including running the Briny Community Church and President of Briny Breezes. He actively participated at the Briny TV station, square dancing, the Chislers club and the Boating & Fishing club. For more than 50 years, Briny was a special place to Chuck where family always came to visit and spend time with grandma and grandpa at the beach- and enjoy homemade orange juice and devotions in the morning. In retirement he enjoyed daily ocean golf-cart rides with his bride.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Betty Foland, his children, Carolyn (Bob) Walczyk, Caryn (Bruce) Dennison, Charlie (Denise) Foland, and Craig (Christine) Foland; his brother Gene (Lawrena) Foland, and sister Cathy (Eric) Wolffbrandt; 13 grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren.  He is predeceased by his brother and sister-in law, Lowell and Joan Foland.
As Chuck entered the embrace of our Lord and Savior may he have heard the words, “Well
done, my good and faithful servant.”
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 11am in the Eastwood Baptist Church with interment to follow in White Chapel Cemetery.  Friends may greet the family from 9:30-11am in the church before the service.
