Georganne Marie (Indick) Speach, 81, passed away early Sunday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital with her family by her side. Georganne graduated from Lemoyne College with a BA in Sociology and worked for several years as a social worker for Onondaga County.
She was a lifelong communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. She worked with Father Fred Parke and Monsignor Robert Dillon in the Dillon Center.
Georganne (or Geor, as most knew her) was an SU Football fan as well as a huge supporter of the Olympics. Geor and her family spent over 30 years visiting New York City, attending Broadway shows, especially her favorite, The Phantom of the Opera. She loved good music and attended many concerts over the year, especially Barry Manilow, whose music she and her daughter loved together.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ronald Speach; daughter Christa Speach (Mark Clemente); nephews: John Crowley and Peter (Laurie) Indick; as well as many cousins and friends.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 10 at 9am in Blessed Sacrament Church with entombment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wanderer’s Rest, Humane Association or the SPCA of CNY.
